Mission

  1. Long Term
CRS' slogan of "Building a Healthier Future" supports this mission in that family planning directly impacts on the future health of Nepal and its citizens.
  2. Short Term
Supported by its partners and utilizing the techniques of social marketing, CRS' mission is to inspire and enable under-served and vulnerable/marginalized Nepalese people to change their behaviors for healthier lives by making products accessible, increasing awareness, conducting BCI programs and thereby increasing the use of contraceptives and MCH products and by undertaking activities including availability of condoms to prevent spread of HIV/AIDS and STIs.
  3. Looking Forward
Moving forward, CRS seeks to move to an ever more prominent role in health by exploring new areas of interventions where social marketing methodologies are applicable, i.e., safer motherhood, HIV/AIDS, health products and micro-nutrients. To do this, CRS will build upon its firm corporate foundation in place that will result in the Company being positioned to be more able to meet the health demands in Nepal.

In order for CRS to continue development of its in-house capacity, and to remain on the cutting edge of social marketing, CRS seeks out technical assistance within and outside Nepal to develop relevant technical expertise in public health to implement Behavior Change Communication (BCC) campaigns and franchising networks that addresses key obstacles to adoption of family planning, particularly for those expressing a desire to adopt family planning but who have not yet started. This would allow CRS to access the technical expertise required to develop more mature and comprehensive programs that meet its overall objectives. Additionally, CRS will seek expertise in developing integrated marketing communication (IMC) STI/HIV prevention campaigns as well as other strategic health interventions related to MCH issues.

CRS will develop its marketing capacity to introduce more sophisticated techniques to manage its current and new brands and product portfolios based on field research.

CRS will strengthen staff capabilities through training seminars both locally and internationally, and continue to review and assess and support its human resources. CRS is committed to fair and effective selection, development, motivation and recognition and will provide employees with the tools, training and support to achieve excellence.

CRS will develop commercial market strategies and integrate them into overall programming, and adopt appropriate systems from the private sector to improve effectiveness and cost efficiencies.
